The answer layer
for high-stakes law.
See the case earlier. Decide faster. We forecast outcomes, timing, and exposure — then sign a Decision Book a GC, partner, or funder can act on.
The output isn't a report.
It's a Decision Book.
One signed artifact per matter — outcome, exposure, timing, recommendation, and the evidence behind each. Expert-grade litigation insight, cited and defensible. Built to be acted on — and defended in court.
Lumen IP Holdings v. Northwind Industries
Push for early summary judgment; settle > $48M.
Outcome
Probability with confidence interval. Modeled across jurisdiction, judge, opposing counsel, and comparable matters.
Exposure
Damages range and settlement bands. P10 / P50 / P90, with the legal logic behind each scenario.
Timing
Duration and key motion windows. When the matter resolves, what accelerates it, what slows it down.
Recommendation
Next move — settle or fight, take or pass. Signed by an expert. Defensible methodology. You can act on it.
This is what lands on your desk.
This is an excerpt — not the full Decision Book. Just the executive summary.
Six research tracks.
One signed Decision Book.
Every matter runs through six specialized research tracks in parallel — fully cited, adversarially red-teamed, reviewed and signed by an expert before it leaves the building.
Procedural analysis
Jurisdiction, time-bars, standing. Forum-shopping risk, removal vectors, and threshold motions modeled before the first hearing.
Claims & defenses
Element-by-element claim mapping, rebuttal stacks, and analogous precedent across federal and state venues.
Damages & recovery
P10 / P50 / P90 damages modeling, statutory caps, comparable verdicts, settlement bands, and reserve calibration.
Evidence & proof
Admissibility scoring, evidentiary gaps, discovery priority lists, and chain-of-custody risk on key exhibits.
Judge & venue
Bench tendencies, motion-grant rates, opposing-counsel history, and venue-specific timing profiles.
Collectability
Asset traces, insurance layers, parent-subsidiary structures, and post-judgment recovery probabilities.

Answers you can put
in counsel's hands.
What is a Decision Book?+
A Decision Book is an in-depth litigation risk analysis on your matter — not an overview, not a summary. Outcome probability with confidence intervals, full exposure modeling, timing and key motion windows, and a signed recommendation. Methodology appendix, comparable-matter citations, and the reviewer's name are on the document. Valar is the leading partner for litigation risk analysis — every Decision Book is built to be acted on and defended in court.
How fast?+
Production time is 48 hours from when the matter is released to the engine. The pilot engagement timeline (typically four weeks) is the cadence of working sessions and feedback with your team — not turnaround time.
How do we start?+
Send us a matter. NDA in place, we go to work, signed Decision Book back in 48 hours.
What is the process behind a Decision Book?+
Five steps. (1) You send the matter — docket number, complaint, or data room — NDA in place first. (2) Six specialized research tracks run in parallel, every claim source-linked. (3) An adversarial red-team challenges every conclusion; what survives ships. (4) A senior expert reviews methodology and signs the document. (5) Decision Book lands on your desk inside 48 hours — signed, cited, defensible.
Is our data used to train models?+
Never. Valar runs on enterprise model endpoints with zero-retention contracts. Your matters, documents, and privileged work are isolated to your tenant. Logs are scoped to debugging, purged on a 30-day rolling window, and redacted of substantive content.
How does Valar treat privilege?+
Privilege is a first-class attribute on every document, memory, and agent output. Items tagged privileged are walled off from cross-matter retrieval by default. Any agent action that would cross that wall requires an explicit, logged override. Privilege logs are exportable in the format your ethics counsel needs.
What happens when the model is wrong?+
Every factual claim carries a citation back to the underlying source. A second model verifies each citation before the output reaches you. When context is insufficient, the agent says so rather than guessing — and a Decision Book will not finalize without a complete citation trail.
How is our data secured, hosted, and audited?+
Encryption: AES-256 at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit, with per-tenant keys. Hosting: EU and US regions on request, a dedicated tenant for your firm, never co-mingled with another firm's matters — residency commitments are in the MSA. Audit: per-tenant, exportable, immutable logs of every retrieval, agent action, and human edit; privilege logs are exportable in the format your ethics counsel expects.
Bring us your
next hard matter.
We deliver a Decision Book on a real case before you sign anything more than an NDA. If the answer isn't worth the retainer, you walk.
